Jet Skiing with Aunt Ally!
My sister came up this past week, hence all the fun activities. She wanted to rent a jet ski when she was here, so we headed out to Jordenelle Lake after staying the night at the cabin. We had a blast and the kids couldn't get enough of going out on the Lake! It even got Zac hooked and started thinking about owning one! (I've been telling him for awhile how much I would love to have one!) We'll see...it's probably just going to be a dream!

My sister's friend Sheila came up with her kids. It was fun for Ben and Lucas to have someone to play with!

Thanks again Aunt Ally....we had fun!
Cabin Fun
After going to the parade, we went up to Park City and shopped for awhile, then headed on up to Oakley where we stayed at my sister in law's grandpa's cabin! We had a little get together with Erika and her twins and mom, my sister Ally, and my brother Danny and his two kids. Ben and Lucas thought it was fun to sleep in a cabin, and we enjoyed a nice barbeque and evening in the great outdoors! It was fun and beautiful there!

Pioneer Day!
We had never been to the Pioneer Day parade in Salt Lake. We decided to give it a shot this year. We didn't sleep over or do anything crazy like that. We did kind of sneak in with my sister's friends family...and our seats were just fine! Here are a few highlights!
Lot's of cute floats!
Seeing President Monson was definitely a highlight. Notice all the body guards around him! He was cute waving to everybody!
The boys handled the heat and loved seeing the parade!

Now we can say we've been to the big parade! Now we don't have to go again for awhile!

"I am getting bigger!"................by Rachel!
I can't believe I'm 4 1/2 months old! The time is going by fast. I can't wait till I'm bigger, but my Mom just wants to me to stay a baby! Here are some of my latest adventures!
My mom fed my some different food for the first time. I wasn't so sure about it. I don't think I liked it too much. I hope she doesn't give that to me again. I think I'll just stick with my milk!
Although it didn't taste very good....it was fun getting it all over my face!
My mom keeps trying out all these new toys now that I'm a little bigger. I guess she wants to keep me happy so she can get things done. I'm not so sure about this one yet. It kind of scares me! Maybe I'll have to wait to grow a little bit more!
I've been bumboed! My mom pulled the bumbo out so I can sit all on my own! I like this one all right because I can see so much. I don't like to sit in it for too long.
I'm not sure that I should show this picture. It's pretty gross! My mom says that sometimes I have blowouts! It grosses my mom out, but it makes my brothers laugh! I guess it's just part of being a baby!
My favorite thing to do is hang out in my bouncer. I still like to sleep a lot. I think my life so far is good!

Bike Parade, Breakfast, and Water Fun???
Our ward had a bike parade and breakfast. Here is the group coming around for the 2nd time ( I missed the first!) The boys bikes were decked out in a BYU theme...they are die hard cougar fans..at least Ben is and Lucas just follows along with big brother!

We had a nice breakfast and the primary planned fun water games for the kids. This is where it started out innocent.

Then....things turned a little crazy. Who would of thought the leader of the pack was none other than our Bishop Child! Here he is dousing an innocent 11 yr old...poor Riley!
Holly Thompson in the distance getting drenched!
Bishop armed and ready for his next victim. I played the baby card and camera in hand...so nobody had dared get me wet!
Does the city need to know about all the water waste?????

We had a fun time. Zac, Ben, and Lucas went away drenched...while Rachel and I escaped in time to make it home dry! It is fun seeing everyone else's pictures on their blogs!

And the winner is..........
Last night Ben participated in the Raingutter Regata for Cub Scouts. With the help of Zac, he created the only football themed (Colts) catamaran boat, that sailed it's way through every race, coming away victorious and undefeated, and clinching the 2008, Pack 549 Raingutter Regata championship title! Way to go Ben (and Zac who admittedly did a little research online to find the best design)! It also helps to have Zac as the Cub Master and have him be so involved in the Scout program!
Ben also works hard to see how many awards he can get each month!

Pizza Disaster
Here's the picture:

Now here's the story:
Setting: I just sat down to feed Rachel
Lucas: Mom, can I have a granola bar?
Me: You need to eat lunch first and then you can have one. There's a piece of pizza in the fridge, you can heat that up and have it for lunch.
Lucas: (whining) But I don't know how long to do it!!!!!
Me: Just put it in and push 1,0,0..start.
Lucas: 1 and 2 0's?
Me: Yes...you can do it!
Well, a little time went by, I'd completely forgotten the whole conversation and Rachel was just finishing nursing. I hear Lucas run up the stairs frantically screaming "Mom, there's smoke in the house...the pizza is on fire!" I quickly ran downstairs to find the whole kitchen filled with a nasty smoke. I turned the microwave off, rescued the pizza, and we all ran outside for cover. We later realized that he had pushed 1,2,0,0 instead of 1,0,0. So, needless to say the whole house reeks a nasty raunchy smoky smell( and still does 9 hrs later!) I packed the kids up and headed off to Wendy's and bowling to avoid sitting in the house, and ran to Wal-mart to buy 4 different kinds of air fresheners! Hopefully we get rid of the smell someday and our microwave won't be permanently damaged! In hind sight....I wish I would have just let him have the granola bar!
Just a little side-note that I'd like to record so I don't forget: Amidst the whole chaos while the kids were outside, I had a phone call. As I was talking on the phone, Lucas starts interrupting me, which he always does and I usually try and avoid him as much as I can. Well, he persistently kept bugging me so what I got out of what he was saying was.." Mom, can I be outside?" I mouth to him, yes, while wondering why he was really asking me that since he already was outside. Anyways, later as we were eating at Wendy's I asked Lucas if he had gone to the bathroom before we left.
Lucas: "Yes, I peed outside!"
Me:" What...why are you telling me this, and why did you do such a thing?"
Lucas: "You told me I could...remember when it was all smoky in the house I asked you?"
Me:" I thought you said...Can I be outside!"
Anyways...I guess I couldn't get too mad at him since he had asked!

San Diego Fun!
Well, we just got back from our bi-annual trip to San Diego! We got to spend 10 days there and everyday was filled with swimming at pools, hanging out at the beach, going to a Padres game, and enjoying seeing all of my family. The highlight of the trip was going on an airplane, instead of the dreaded 13 hour drive. We decided to splurge this summer with having little Rachel now. The boys were happy to oblige...they were so amazed at how fast we got there and the fact that they got their own T.V.'s (Jet Blue!) It was fun to see them so excited. Everyone traveled great except for the screaming Mimi before take-off on the way back (Rachel- luckily she quickly fell asleep and slept the whole way home) and Lucas' frequent (3) and most inconvenient potty breaks on the plane!
Here are some of our highlights (I've separated them into different posts!):
Swimming everyday at either Aunt Ally's, Lawrence Welk Resort, or Sea Point (my mom has timeshare ownership there and we can use them for day use!)

Let's go Padres!
We went to a Padres game while we were in San Diego. It was free Jersey night so we all got new shirts. It was fun being all together (this is all my family, plus one friend in the top right corner!)...too bad the padres lost.

The highlight for the kids were the treats we brought and whatever they could con us into buying!

California Cousins...etc
We love spending time with our family in California. The boys got to spend a lot of time with their cousins and there was never a dull moment!
We love the beach!
At last but not least, after two days of obsessing until I got this video to work, a couple of phone calls to 2 of my computer minded brothers, and complete avoidance of house cleaning and attentive mothering...I finally was able to get it to work.
We spent a lot of time at the beach. It's my favorite thing to do and I must get it in as much as we can while we are there! The pictures include many nieces and nephews, brothers and sister, and my mom as we hung out and had a barbeque one night! I hope you enjoy....I've got to get on with my life!
