Utah Summer Games

This past weekend I went to Cedar City to play basketball in the Utah Summer Games. To say that we got killed would be an understatement, but since we mainly went down to have fun, it didn't kill our egos too bad! The teams we played against were all young college teams, and the average age of our team was about 30! I play with these girls about twice a week for excersize and fun, but there was no way we could keep up with those young girls! Between the 9 of us that were there, we have 35 kids between us! Oh well, like I said..it was just for fun and we had a great girls weekend getaway!

These were my roomies, Tami and Karalie. They were kind enough to put up with Rachel and I...yes she came along with me and it was fun trying to keep her quite all night so she wouldn't wake the others!

Chowing down at Chili's!

Rachel was a pretty good trooper. I had to keep her on my schedule, rather than her's but all in all she was a pretty good baby!

Father's Day Tribute!

Happy Father's Day! I wanted to pay tribute to the father's that play a role in our lives! Of course, there is the father of my kids, Zac. He is a great Dad. He loves his kids, works with them to teach them right and wrong, and is always in involved in all of their activities. He works hard to provide for our family and care for our home. He also has a sweet testimony of the gospel and I love it when he shares it with our kids. I'm so grateful for him and all that he does for us.

We love our grandpa Steve, Zac's Dad. He is kind and generous and is always willing to help us out with whatever projects we have going on at our house. He is the master painter! He taught Zac the importance of hard work, the value of taking care of things, and his love of The Beatles and Corvettes!
Here is a picture of Rachel watching TV with Dad and Grandpa!

Last but not least, on this Father's Day, I can't but help but reflect on the life of my own Dad. It's crazy that he's not here with us anymore and it hurts so much, but I know his spirit lives on. He was the best Dad. He was kind to my mother. He loved life and learning. He taught me the gospel. He was so fun to be around. He loved to be with his family. The list could go on, but I can't see the screen anymore nor can I handle the tears! I'm so grateful for him and his life. I'm grateful for the gospel plan and eternal families. I miss you and love you, Dad!

Swimsuit blues!

So, I know I'm not the only one who dreads having to get into a swimsuit every summer. It's even more depressing this year due to the recent change in my body after having a baby! But, after having the same swimsuit for 4 years, I decided it was time to get a new one, however dreadful the experience of trying on swimsuits can be! I tried some on yesterday and decided to go with a modbe swimsuit that came highly recommended by many friends and are quite popular( I'll give a shout out to Kelsey in my ward who sells them...check it out...www.kelsey.mymodbe.com!) Anyways, I'm not sure if it looks that great on me, so I decided to post a picture and maybe you can tell me what you think...just don't be too harsh!

Ha,ha....I really did get this swimsuit, but too bad I don't have that pre- or post- maternity body!

I have a lost tooth!

Lucas lost his first tooth! It became pretty wiggly on Sunday, so he waited so his Grandma Bonnie could pull it out. He is so excited about it, he's been telling everybody.."I have a lost tooth" or " I have a gone tooth" He's not sure exactly how to describe it but he knows it's gone and was excited to wake up the next morning to find $2.00 from the tooth fairy! We think it adds charm to his already cute smile!

Catching up!

I just wanted to catch up on a few big events that we've had recently.

First of all, Ben turned 8! He got to have a bowling party and lunch with a couple of friends!
Ben started right into Cub Scouts and is all fired up. He earned his Bobcat at his first Den Meeting! It helps that his Dad is the Cub Master and they work on it together!

Ben got baptized on April 26, 2008. We arranged for him to be baptized in North Ogden so all of our family could be there (Danny graduated from BYU on the 24th so Grandma, Ally, Donnie, Todd and Erika, CJ and Lacey, and Danny and Lacey were all there!) It was a beautiful day and I was so proud of Ben. Zac gave him a beautiful blessing and we know our Heavenly Father was pleased with Ben.

A funny little side note is that when Ben was ready to be baptized, all the kids were lined up in the front ready to watch. All was quiet, Zac said the prayer, and proceeded to baptize Ben, while Lucas yells out "There He goes!" Everyone got a chuckle out of that!

Rachel was blessed the day after Ben's baptism on the 27th. Zac gave her a beautiful blessing and she was quiet the whole prayer. Those who helped bless her included her dad, Grandpa Steve, Uncles Todd, Danny, Donnie, CJ, Terry, and friends Travis and Brian. I have a feeling Grandpa Don was watching on as well, as I know that he knows her spirit well!
We had a great weekend with all the family here. It was hectic going from graduation, baptism and blessing, but we had a lot of great food, and a great time together. Thanks to both grandma's for helping us out!

Getting a picture of Rachel!

Here are some recent attempts at getting THE perfect picture of Rachel!

Lucas graduates from pre-school!

We got a kick out of Lucas' pre-school graduation. He was the star of the show as the melting snowman! The words are not audible in the video.....nor could we hear during the program.!

Lucas was the tallest...and definitely cutest of all the pre-school kids!

Caving in to Peer Pressure!

Well, against all previous claims to never have time to blog, I've finally given in to peer pressure. I guess it's the cool thing to do....and who doesn't want to be cool? The only reason I gave in was that I don't scrapbook or journal and I figured this would kind of kill two birds with one stone! Besides, it's fun to keep up with all our family and friends that we don't get to see too often. So, having said that....we'll see how often I actually keep it updated! I've already wasted too much time trying to figure this thing out!

Blogging was also was a source of contention with Zac for 2 reasons: 1- he doesn't want anybody tracking us down that shouldn't due to his profession and criminals that he works with.....point understood! Thus the meaniwacs name is used rather than our last name! 2- Apparently I didn't spell Meaniwacs the same that he would...Menewaks????....I like my way better...but who knows since it isn't a real word! Oh well, I guess I didn't listen to him and blogging away I go! (He finally did sort of concede!)
